Oregon Real Estate License Requirements
Renewals are every two years, and fall on the last day of the licensee's birth month. For first renewals, the required course is a 30 hour Oregon Advanced Practices course.
The Oregon Real Estate Agency does not approve schools for Continuing Education. Your Managing or Supervising Broker must approve your education.
All real estate licensees (principal brokers, associate brokers, brokers and property managers) renewing an active license must complete at least 30 hours of continuing education during the preceding two license years after the initial post-licensing renewal, as stated by ORS 696.174. At least 15 hours must be in one or more of the required topics as determined by the Oregon Real Estate Commissioner and set forth in OAR 863-015-0055.
Courses in required topics are noted as such in the course catalog.
The courses we currently offer for Oregon are continuing education courses for students that have already taken the AP 30-hour post-licensing course in their first renewal period.
If you are a broker who received their first Oregon real estate license after July 1, 2002, you must complete an Agency-approved 30-hour Advanced Real Estate Practices (AP) post-licensing course before your first active license renewal. Principal brokers, sole practitioner brokers and property managers are not required to take the AP course. Please contact the Oregon Real Estate Agency for more information on the AP course.
